In partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education, the Niswonger Foundation’s AP Access for ALL (APAA) program serves over 99% of all public high schools in Tennessee. In addition to offering fully online AP Courses and mini-grants to AP classrooms, the APAA program also offers scholarships for teachers to attend a virtual AP Summer Institute.
APSI Guidelines and Information
- Scholarships can only be awarded to teachers within their endorsement area(s). These teachers must teach at a public high school in the state of Tennessee that is partnered with the AP Access for ALL program.
- Only one scholarship will be awarded per teacher each year.
- The institute training is conducted synchronously online via virtual sessions.
- Total time commitment is approximately 30 hours over 4 days.
- Attendance for the ENTIRE APSI is mandatory to receive a certificate.
Application Process and Deadlines
- Complete the APSI Application starting on November 21, 2025.
- The application will be closed at the time all scholarships for this year are awarded.
- Scholarship applications will be reviewed and teachers will not receive notification until mid-January.
- Teachers who are awarded an APSI scholarship will receive an email from sdebord@niswongerfoundation.org. Please add this email address to your contact list so all communications are received.
- Scholarship recipients must confirm their availibility for the APSI date BEFORE registration details will be provided.
- Scholarship recipients who fail to confirm acceptance within the deadline will forfeit their scholarship.
- It is the responsibility of the teacher to accurately follow provided registration directions.
- AP Access for ALL will receive the invoice for your registration.
- Additional Financial Considerations that may apply if you cancel after you offically register with UTC:
- Cancellation before May 18th: $50 fee
- Cancellation AFTER May 18th: $600 fee
